Volga is a unique project on the Moscow music scene. It successfully combines experimental electronics, contemporary dance rhythms and original Russian folklore. Pagan psychedelia, shamanism, traditional melodies, lyrics from ancient Russian texts (12th-19th centuries A.D.) mixed with urban aesthetics and contemporary video art are the essential components of Volga's performances.

The veteran St. Petersburg band NOM - known for its sharply satirical, zero-budget films as well as its raucous music.

ALYMYSTO is the pulse of electronic phobias, unexpected structures of ambience, downbeat gateways and at times even glimpses of hard-stepping industrial and dark trip hop. The dissonant eerie noise treatments lead the listener towards perilous paths of a picturesque David Lynch movie while the trippy beats and atmospheric soundscapes drill through the auditory meatus like the music of Akira Yamaoka and Rika Muranaka. ‘Atomgrad’ is an internal research program of audio cosmetic desolation filled with sonic synthesis of rhythmic hypnosis and cold sculptured spheres.

All of them had had vast experience of playing at gigs with various groups and having found themselves to be really kindred souls, they started off their joint career, naturally and courageously combining the tunes and instrumentation of traditional Slavonic music with the energy and attitude of punk.

Their original songs with tunes and lyrics based on the riches of the folklore, are catchy and sensitive. Fuzzy dirt-simple guitar riffs and explosively frenetic percussion supported by the poignant bass and the energy of jazzy Russian accordion fill their performance with both rural restlessness and urban craziness.

Yuri Mamleyev is a marginal figure in Russian literature. His works are almost unknown to any large audience, critical literature about him is scant, and his name is surrounded with an aura of the most extreme spiritual perversity which keeps his writings beyond the scope of "normal" literature.
